The honey is produced by bees collecting nectar from the plant – herb paliurus (a herb known since ancient times) and from the plant linden, in the meadows of Kerkini. The plants paliurus and linden produce great amounts of high quality nectar and the bees collecting it produce honey of excellent quality. It is produced in small quantities.
It has a dark orange colour, a pleasant mild flavour, a strong aroma and it is viscous. It is a mildly sweet honey with a strong aftertaste.
The honey is pure, without any additions.
Often enough there are traces – small pieces of wax during the extraction process from the honey comb, however there is no processing. The foam which can be found at times in the jar is a natural phenomenon of unprocessed honey.
It has tonic, antiseptic and antibacterial properties.
